On behalf of the Board of Directors, Management and ZPDC Staff we welcome you to our website. In 2016, the Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar (RGoZ) enacted the Oil and Gas (Upstream) Act No. 6, 2016 (The Act). Following the enactment, ZPDC was established as the National Oil Company (NOC) of Zanzibar under Section 32 of the Act.
ZPDC became a registered company on 9th February 2018 under the Companies Act No. 15 of 2013. It started operation in June 2018. ZPDC was created to undertake such activities as; to oversee the operations of international oil and gas exploration companies (IOGs), to manage oil and gas data, and to participate in the upstream activities of oil and gas up to 25% of participating interest during the development phase on behalf of the Government. ZPDC will act as a commercial entity and safeguard the national interest in petroleum activities
In order to deliver maximum benefits to the Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar and stakeholders, ZPDC has prepared this Strategic Plan (SP) to guide the Company to operate sustainably, efficiently, effectively and profitably.
